debbie harry or simply "blondie". mula sa kanilang awitin ang pamagat ng post na ito, alam ninyo ba kung bakit ito ang pamagat? eto ang kwento --
last fateful saturday, august 13, the metropolis was filled with tempting events -- it's the first year anniversary of Manila Soul over at B-Side in Makati, there's the New Wave Party by DWXB 102.7 at the Mandaluyong Gym in Boni Circle, and sherwin's nth birtday bash with CoffeeBreak Island as your drinking buddies, over at sherwin's house in Hulo, Mandaluyong City. before the decision was made, joey and i met russsel salazar in manda to visit marlon at the hospital.
of course, we opted for the nearest, the cheapest and "the friends only" event you could possibly think of. after downing several bottles of brandy and "crispy patas", noodles, chicken feet, deep fried innards, and what-have-you, we decided to check out the new wave party over at the Mandaluyong Gym --
we arrived at the gym at around 2 am already. most of the guests and party animals had gone home (or elsewhere), even most of our mates weren't around anymore. more beer drinking ensued, and after feeling sleepy and bored, actually ( 'coz most of the wavers were gone ) -- i was figuring out a way to go home unnoticed. joshua, who at the moment was feeling the same predicament that i was in, approached me and offered me a ride home on his scooter. i told him to wait for our mates but insisted that we went on with his plan. so we went and with just a few kilometers from home, the unexpected happened -- a tricycle countered to our lane and joshua, followed his instincts, swerved to the left causing the tires to slide on the sandy road.
the result was, as you can see -- 8 stitches on the left brow and bruises on the nose, chin and left hand...and for josh, he's scheduled for operation at the orthopedic hospital, a screw will be installed to his left elbow. we're still thankful to God that we survived and our injuries were not that serious.
accidents do happen -- specially in a not so perfect world like the one we are all living in...we can never tell when things will happen, be prepared and always seek for His guidance.
